The Decathlon is a brand new event for SPIBikeFest. The Decathlon is a test of skills at 10 different events. It will involve traveling throughout the Rio Grande Valley and participating at events along the way. It will be fun and a little competition is always exciting. Participants will depart from the convention center on an adventure that will be a lot of fun. There is no cost to participate and there will be cash prizes... Yes, cash prizes and it will be enough to be worth your time.
The Decathlon ride is open to all FULL registered rally participants and will be a FRIDAY event only. First bike out at 9:00am and last bike in 6:00pm The ride is approximately 225 miles There will be 10 stops along the way and a TASK (target shooting, knife throwing, go-cart racing, eating etc) will have to be completed at each stop. Once task has been completed you will receive a Mardi Gras beaded necklace. You must finish with all 10 necklaces to compete for the prize money. 1st prize $1000.00 2nd prize $750.00 3rd prize $500.00 SHOW-UP EARLY AND STAY LATE. REMEMBER A FRIDAY ONLY EVENT Come enjoy Thursday nights welcome party (free burgers to first 1000 people) live music and then be ready to ride on Friday morning. Remeber riding alone is not as much fun as riding with friends so bring them ALL. |
